Welcome back! I hope you had a great summer and enjoyed some down time with your family and friends. I look forward to continuing to work together this school year in the best interest of our students, their families, and each other. TAC & CAC: Information will soon come out from Anita regarding Teacher Advisory Committee and Classified Advisory Committee meetings for the 2019/2020 school year.
Student Lunches: Information will soon come out from Anita regarding student lunches with the superintendent. As a reminder, I have lunch with a group of students at each school each quarter of the school year. Hands down, this is the best part of my job! I learn so much from our students in a relaxed setting where they feel comfortable sharing their honest thoughts. VERY honest! Thank you for your support of this.
Facility Study: As the 2018/2019 school year was closing, we partnered with our county government to hire a firm to conduct a study of our facilities to determine if there is a need to continue discussions about building a replacement high school. The results of that study are very close to being ready to share. I am thinking we will have a joint meeting with our County Commissioners in September for that purpose. I encourage you to be in the know about this. I will send out updates to you, but this is an important thing for our school system and we all should be well informed about it. So that you are aware, the firm looked at things like square footage of classrooms, number of housing permits issued in a certain time frame, and so on to determine the options they will recommend to the two Boards.
